The new safety belts designed, manufactured and tested in the factory in Ronco Scrivia, debuted this year on the R30 of the Renault F1 Team and the Hispania Racing Team car of Bruno Senna as well an in the main world competitions. The belts are made according to the latest FIA regulations with the use of special materials such as titanium alloy and aluminum, as well as a special steel and a mix of magnesium and ergal. The final product is extremely lightweight, high performance and enables the teams to achieve significant weight reduction without compromising the safety of the drive.
Seat belts are designed on the computer as needed. Successively the straps are cut and the belt is assembled according to the project, with the help of an advanced computerized system able to carry out the special seams in accordance with the regulations. Each belt is designed to ensure maximum security and optimized performance. All individual components are severely tested in the laboratory in pre-production as well as in post-production.
